Summer is the best – the sun, the family trips, the sandy beaches, the extra time spent with your kids on school break. But, it also has its challenges – the layers of SPF, the long-distance car rides, the chafing, the extra time spent with your kids on school break. Even if summer is undoubtedly the most wonderful time of the year, it takes time and energy to keep those kiddos entertained. Here are a few activities to keep the kids busy this summer at your apartment in Fruit Heights.

Backyard Games

Whether you’re young or just young at heart, playing backyard games is a great way to while away the long summer hours. Set up a badminton net, invest in a croquet set, spray off the slip n slide, even just a simple soccer ball can suffice. Whatever backyard game you choose, it can bring your kids hours of enjoyment and give them some essential summer exercise, to boot.

Read a Book

Just because your kids aren’t’ in school doesn’t mean they still can’t use their brains a bit. Summer is a great time to catch up on your kids’ non-essential reading lists, and dive into a fun, fantastical, fiction novel. Sure, they might have a list of important literary achievements to read through before school starts, but let’s face it – those books can be boring, too. Give your kids a chance to get lost in a book of their choosing. You just might find it sparks an interest and a lifelong love of reading.

Go for a Swim

Swimming is an essential summertime activity, and it’s a great way for kids to stay in shape while having fun. Join a swimming club, invest in a summer pass at the community center, or, better yet, take advantage of the resort style swimming pool at your apartment in fruit heights – no matter the venue, swimming is a great way to cool off and keep your kids entertained.

Bike Ride to the Park

Learning to ride a bike is an important part of every kid’s childhood. So, take advantage of the warm weather and all that extra time to get those bike wheels in motion again. Pedal over to the park for a picnic, and spend some time with friends on the playground. Then, get back on the bikes and ride back home; the definition of a perfect summer day.

There you have it – a few healthy, happy summer activities to keep the kiddos entertained. Have fun, be safe, and have a fantastic summer!
